Are you interested in improving your English Language Skills,
Gaining Knowledge of the Saskatchewan Work Environment,
and Connecting to the Saskatchewan Labour Market?
If you answered "YES", we have a program for you
The Advanced Language Training Program (ALT) helps newcomers develop the English language skills needed to meet their individual employment challenges, gain knowledge of the Saskatchewan work environment, and connect to the Saskatchewan labour market.
ALT is designed for newcomers who:
- are 18 years or older;
- can legally work in Canada;
- have been in Canada for less than 8 years;
- have been assessed at level CLB 7-8 on the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Placement Test.
In this program, you will learn about the Saskatchewan labour market and workplace culture, resume and cover letter writing, job search strategies, interview techniques and much more.
The program is builit around the following three modules: You and the labour market, getting a job and Saskatchewan workplace culture and supplement with language materials appropriate for CLB 7-8. Clients may participate in one or more of the modules.
The classes are held:
Monday –Thursday from 6:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The first class will start on August 1st, 2017 with learner intake each month; classes will run until the end of December 2017.
