RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services that enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.

Want to learn more about how to prepare before you arrive in Canada?

Citizenship and Immigration Canda (CIC) has produced a couple videos that are intended to help newcomers settle in Canada.  Watch the video below from Citizenship and Immigration Canada:

Before You Arrive in Canada recommends that newcomers bring all of their personal identification documents with them and have all their official documents translated into English or French before coming to Canada, among many other recommendations.

Your First Two Weeks in Canada explains to newcomers the importance of obtaining a Social Insurance Number, contacting a local settlement organization, and finding employment.

These video are aligned with the new Settlement Guide, Welcome to Canada which can be found the on Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
