In this workshop, you will learn how to create an effective LinkedIn profile that will help you grow your professional network and attract attention from recruiters. In addition, this workshop will teach you how to manage your online presence while also sharing some strategies for staying safe online. \nWhat will you learn? \nThis workshop will teach you how to manage your personal brand via LinkedIn and how to effectively use LinkedIn as a job search and networking tool. The following topics will be covered in this workshop: \n\nCreating a LinkedIn account \n\n\nChoosing a professional headline and photo \n\n\nDeveloping a recruiter-friendly profile \n\n\nUnderstanding Endorsements \n\n\nBuilding your network \n\n\nApplying for jobs on LinkedIn \n\n\nAvoiding job scams \n\nWhen you finish this workshop, you will: \n\nKnow how to develop a strong LinkedIn profile \n\n\nHave confidence in your ability to grow your professional network \n\n\nBe able to recognize and avoid common job scams \n\nWho is eligible for this workshop? \nWorkshops are intended for any newcomers to Canada (focusing on, but not limited to, newcomers within the past 5 years), aged 16 and over, who experience cultural and/or language/literacy barriers to employment. \nDaytime workshops require CLB 4+.
