DESCRIPTION:Creative Writing Workshop Opening Doors Through Stories: Imagine\nSaturdays, October 29, November 5, 12, 19, 10:00-12:00 p.m.\nLocation: Online via Zoom OR in-person at 2314 11th Ave, Regina, SK Please note: this session may be in-person at the RODS office (2314 11th Ave, Regina, SK) OR online, depending on the total number of participants. We will let participants know the location before the first session, but participants should be prepared to be in-person or online.\nLearn from professional, award-winning author Marie Powell!\nIn this series, you will gain creative writing skills to help you craft and refine your own stories. These will be included in the published chapbook, “Opening Doors Through Stories: Imagine”!\nMarie Powell’s adventures in castle-hopping across North Wales resulted in her award-winning medieval fantasy series Last of the Gifted: Spirit Sight and Water Sight. Marie is the author of over 40 children’s books with such publishers as Scholastic Education and Amicus, and her short stories and poetry appear in literary magazines. Her five university degrees include a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from UBC. She is a professional journalist and teaches Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC). Marie lives on Treaty 4 land in Regina, where she experiments in gardening and medieval cooking.
