Meet Mu R'Na Hser: 2013 Newcomer Bursary Recipient

I was born in a family who stongerly believed in the importance of education and being hightly motivated by my parents. I have always strived to be the best student. The purpose of applying for the newcomer bursary is I have a long term goals to continue with my social work degree that will be conducted at the University of Regina for the full four years.
I would like to continue my education after I graduate from high school but the most difficult for me to carry on my education is financial support. If I take the Social Work Bachelor's degree program, it will cost me a significant amount of money. I am currently working part time and will continue to work.
In addition to my academic activites, I also give time to my community. I take part in many social activities expereience work in a group together with many people from different backgrounds. Therefore, I can adapt to new situations and make friends easily. I also volunteer with the elderly and at the Regina Food Bank. I enjoy working with people to gain more knowledge, skills and abilities.
I believe this bursary will become a spring board and my first step towards my goal.
