In this series, you will gain creative writing skills to help you craft and refine your own stories. These will be included in the published chapbook, “Opening Doors Through Stories: Family
Marie Powell’s adventures in castle-hopping across North Wales resulted in her award-winning medieval fantasy series Last of the Gifted: Spirit Sight and Water Sight. Marie is the author of over 40 children’s books with such publishers as Scholastic Education and Amicus, and her short stories and poetry appear in literary magazines. Her five university degrees include a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from UBC. She is a professional journalist and teaches Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC). Marie lives on Treaty 4 land in Regina, where she experiments in gardening and medieval cooking. Find Marie at mariepowell.ca
