In the event of an emergency, will you know what to do? First Aid & CPR training can help give you the skills and confidence to respond quickly in an emergency situation, providing effective and timely care that can even save a life! Furthermore, this training is recognized by employers across a variety of industries and fields, increasing your employability and helping create a safer work environment for everyone.
WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR?
This workshop is for all newcomers who experience cultural and/or language/literacy barriers to employment. You need to be over 16 years old and demonstrate CLB 5+ in English proficiency. You also need to register with us for workshop enrolment. If you are not registered, please call (306) 352-3521.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
In this workshop, participants learn to prevent, recognize, and care for a wide variety of injuries and illnesses, including:
- Choking
- Circulation emergencies
- Wounds
- Head, neck, and spinal injuries
- Environmental illnesses and many more…
WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?
Participants will attend online classes where they will prepare for a one-day, in-person certification session delivered by our training partner. The workshop provides a safe environment where every participant can learn, practice, and feel comfortable asking questions as they work towards their First Aid & CPR certification.
When you finish this workshop, you will:
- Be able to identify strategies for preventing injuries and illnesses
- Be able to recognize the signs and symptoms of a variety of injuries and illnesses
- Be able to describe and perform the care first aiders provide in emergency situations
