As you start your new life in Regina, we understand that settling in a new country can be both exciting and challenging, especially for the first few weeks. That’s why we created First Steps to Settlement program; to help you with your settlement journey and to make the transition to your new home easier.
Welcome to Regina – First Steps to Settlement is a weekly program for newcomers that provides a comprehensive guide to settlement in Canada.
It will equip you with all the information and resources you need. Most of the topics covered in the orientation should/can be completed within the first two months of arrival to Regina.
In the session, you will learn about:

- How to find employment and improve your English/French language.
- How to apply for government benefits and programs (e.g., child benefits, GST credit)
- What types of settlement services are available for newcomers in Regina.
- and more!
