Regina’s Refugee Hiring Event 2025: A Resounding Success!

The 2025  Refugee Hiring Event, hosted on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, was a phenomenal success. We were thrilled to see real-time connections forming between our community’s talented refugee job seekers and participating employers. In fact, it was the best part of the entire planning process.

This year’s event proudly welcomed 59 pre-screened job seekers, connecting them directly with some great employers including RBC, Sasktel, Coca-Cola, QCY Commercial Cleaning, JuzKidin Early Learning Center, Clare Parker Homes Inc., Turning Leaf, and the YMCA. Employers brought immediate job openings in customer service, hospitality, and caregiving fields.

The main goal of this collaborative event was to remove common barriers and accelerate meaningful employment, ensuring these skilled individuals can promptly contribute to our province’s growth. We were really encouraged by the commitment from the employers. Many candidates moved from their interview to the next step in the hiring process.

A big shout-out to the Coaches Corner team. That space was buzzing! The interview tips and personalized guidance offered there gave our clients the confidence they needed to shine and succeed.

This success is a testament to the power of partnership. A huge, heartfelt thank you to World Education Services (WES) and Jumpstart Refugee Talent for their coaching and financial support, and to the Regina Work Prep Centre, for serving as the key lead partner. The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) proudly served as the event’s Central Convenor, ensuring seamless coordination across all partnering agencies.  We also want to thank for the essential local support provided by Sask Polytech, SSILC, CECS, UCC and RPL, and a massive thank you to all the volunteers who spent the day ensuring everything ran perfectly.

We also had the honor of sharing the day with our esteemed community supporters, City Councillor David Froh and MLA Noor Burqi.

Here’s to the new connections made and the new beginning ahead! Together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive workforce.
