The Regina Open Door Society is located in the City of Regina on Treaty 4 land, which is recognized as the traditional territory of the nêhiyawak/Cree, Nahkawē/Saulteaux, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
About the course:
Regina Open Door Society Citizenship 101 helps newcomers increase their Canadian Citizenship knowledge.
The modules are mostly taken from the Discover Canada guidebook and are offered four times a year on ten Wednesdays for around one and a half hours, starting at 5 p.m. To enhance their knowledge, all participants will have access to presentations, extra materials, resources, and interactive exercises!
In this course, you will:
- Participate in engaging, interactive, and informative sessions.
- Discover how to become a citizen of Canada.
- Become familiar with the application for Canadian citizenship, including the costs, process, specifications, and required documentation.
- Become familiar with the interview and citizenship exam.
- Hear from notable guests on Canada’s politics, society, and history.
- Take part in a mock citizenship exam; the questions are based on various internet sources and course materials.
- Upon successful completion of the program, receive a certificate.

Who can register?
- Permanent residents
- At least 18 years of age
- Tested at CLB level 4 or above

- Winter Season: January 21st – March 25th
- Spring Season: April 22nd – June 24th
- Summer Season: July 15th- Sep 16th
- Fall Season: Oct 07th – Dec 09th
