What Is FIT And What Can it Do for You?
The Families in Transition program is a FREE program that is there to support clients to become self-sufficient and independent in knowing how to resolve their problems and make healthy choices for themselves and their families. This objective is achieved through a counselling approach that encourages newcomers to develop healthy and responsive communication skills in relationships and by assisting them in setting goals to create strong social and service connections in their community of settlement.
FIT also collaborates with individuals and programs in the community to provide specialized services, referrals, resources, connections and supports to meet the needs of newcomer clients. The program offers culturally sensitive and solution-focused generalized counselling to individuals and families through interpreters when needed.
